ISM, ISPS & MLC 2006 Internal Auditor Training
This training program is designed to provide participants with fundamental knowledge and practical understanding of maritime safety management, ship security, and seafarers’ welfare compliance based on the ISM Code, ISPS Code, and Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006).
Participants will learn the principles of internal auditing, audit preparation, compliance verification, non-conformity reporting, and corrective action processes commonly applied in shipping and offshore industries.
The course combines theoretical learning, case studies, and audit practice exercises to improve participants’ competence in supporting safe, secure, and compliant shipboard and company operations.
Upon completion of this training, participants are expected to be able to:
1. Understand the basic principles and requirements of the ISM Code, ISPS Code, and MLC 2006.
2. Identify company and shipboard responsibilities related to safety management, maritime security, and crew welfare compliance.
3. Explain the purpose and process of internal auditing within shipping and offshore operations.
4. Prepare and conduct internal audits using basic auditing techniques and audit checklists.
5. Identify non-conformities, observations, and areas for improvement during audit activities.
6. Understand corrective action and follow-up processes for continuous improvement.
7. Apply effective communication and reporting methods during audit activities.
8. Support the implementation of maritime compliance systems in accordance with international maritime references and company procedures.
